Getting head tags right matters more than almost any other on-page factor, and getting them subtly wrong — a description truncated at 160 characters, a missing og:image, a canonical pointing at the wrong protocol — is invisible until traffic suffers. Facebook caches Open Graph data aggressively. Update the tags, then run the URL through their sharing debugger to force a re-scrape.
Whenever the same content is reachable at more than one URL — tracking parameters, trailing slashes, http and https variants, or pagination. A self-referencing canonical on every page is a safe default.
